The Problem

An element of the complex line is a high quality, high production pre-treatment machine to process parts prior to powder coating. Important to the factory’s success is production uptime, energy efficiency, quality production and limited environmental impact. Therefore, important high-end features are included as part of the machine. The new line is being installed in a foreign country so pre-assembly and testing is important.

PNEU-MECH's Solution

The Pneu-Mech team designed a 3-stage all stainless-steel pre-treatment machine consisting of cleaning, rinse, rust preventative coating and an air-drying system. The parts are processed on a stainless-steel mesh conveyor system for longevity. Production uptime and product quality is enhanced with the use of chip baskets, canister filters, oil coalescers and pressure VFD.s. Environmental controls include exhaust stream demisters, high efficiency air seals, insulated tanks and housing. PLC controls monitor all aspects of the process providing operator feedback for problem resolution. The entire pre-treatment system is pre-assembled, tested, and simulated operation completed to shorten installation and commissioning time.
